Lions in Zone 3B and Rotary Club of Saint Lucia hosted a medical mission

The collaboration between the Rotary Club of Saint Lucia and the Lions of Zone 3B and the Montero Medical Mission saw a team of Dentists and Dental Hygienists providing dental care at the eight Wellness Centers spanning the eight health regions from the North to the South of the island. The team provided dental services – cleaning, fillings, and extractions from Monday, September 18 to 23, 2023.

In addition, a number of educational conferences were held with the staff of the Dental Department of the Ministry of Health Wellness and Elderly Affairs. Twenty Dental Assistants were provided with a 4-month certificate training program. Dental equipment and supplies were also donated to the Dental Department.

The schools were not left out as, the Colgate Virtual Dental Van made a number of presentations on dental hygiene to the seventy-seven primary schools on the island, impacting 11,000 students. Through this initiative, the students were presented with an oral care kit containing a toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss.

Following the three days of intense clinics, the team found time to enjoy and explore the island’s rich culture.

Special thanks to the Montero Medical Mission for choosing Saint Lucia to implement this project and the expressions for future collaborations in other medical areas. Also thanks to the Rotary Club of Saint Lucia for inviting Lions of Zone 3B to collaborate on this initiative, and looking forward to future collaborations.

Continue to serve WITH THE HEART OF A LION.
